Apprenticeship Week

At the beginning of March we celebrated Apprenticeship week with a variety of events both in and out of school.

We had current Apprentices from JP Morgan in to speak with senior pupils about the benefits of taking up an apprenticeship upon leaving school. These representatives were in the 2nd and 4th years of their Graduate Apprenticeships and were able to share a wealth of knowledge with pupils.

Also, we ran two events to South Lanarkshire College for their Apprenticeship Showcase. These revolved around Social and Childcare and more manual apprenticeships such as Joinery, Painting & Decorating and Roofing. The latter event proved successful again for our pupils, with two of them winning prizes through completing tasks to the highest standard. The winner of the Dulux Painting Challenge was Liam McNutt (S5) and the Citb Fastest Screw Joinery Challenge was Andrew Payne (S4).
