The website can be accessed at:

The booking system will close at 8.00pm on Sunday 27th January.

We look forward to seeing parents and carers then.

Christmas Traditions

This year we have 3 Christmas events all happening on Wednesday 19th December.

Christmas Jumper Day

We are once again taking part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day. It is not a non-uniform day and pupils should endeavour to bring in a donation (approx. £1) on that day.

Elf Day

Our S6 pupils will spend periods 1 to 5 dressed as Christmas Elves, offering their services to departments around the school in order to raise funds for our Charity Partner LesHoey Dreammaker Foundation.

S6 Christmas Lunch

Our S6 Christmas Lunch will be served periods 6 & 7, after Elf Day duties are complete.

UCAS Deadline

The school’s deadline for UCAS is fast approaching – 21st December.  Applicants will be busy with prelims but should be reminded of the time sensitive nature of having their applications completed.  All applications need to be checked by our UCAS Co-ordinator before Pupil Support staff can complete references.   I am sure you will appreciate the time required to ensure that all applications are correct and that each reference reflects the skills and qualities of the applicant, and so we would ask that, where possible, applicants complete their applications as soon as possible.

Don’t wait until the prelims are over and find your application caught in the last minute rush!

EMA Payment Schedule 2018-2019

The payment schedule shows the dates that EMA payments should reach pupils’ bank accounts and which weeks are covered by those payments. The full schedule can be downloaded by clicking here.

Please note;

  • Pupils will not start to receive payments until their application has been processed and they have received an acceptance letter from South Lanarkshire Council. (Application forms are available in the school office)
  • All S5/6 pupils should have completed a learning contract the induction days in May/June, which also acts as their EMA learning agreement.
  • Please note that pupils will not receive an EMA payment for a week in which they have an unexplained absence or an unacceptable number of lates. If a pupil is absent for more than a week please submit a medical certificate or doctor’s letter to their Pupil Support teacher.
  • If there is an issue with any EMA payments, pupils have been asked to speak their Pupil Support teacher in the first instance, who will check attendance for the relevant weeks.

Outdoor Gym

Over the summer we had a 2 great new additions to our PE facilities, a dance studio and an outdoor gym. We understand that it’s important for pupils to know how to use the outdoor equipment correctly, so we’ve put together a playlist of instructional videos explaining how to use each piece of equipment. Pupils will also be shown this as part of their PE lessons over the coming weeks.

Pupils applying for higher education

Parents of pupils who are applying to higher education this year, for entry in 2019, are cordially invited to a special UCAS evening for parents, and if possible pupils, where there will be a full explanation of the procedure along with the opportunity to ask questions.

The meeting will be held in the Social Area at the school, at 7pm on Wednesday 29th August.

Ms. McKenzie from the Pupil Support team will deliver a presentation on the following;

  • The UCAS form and how to complete it;
  • The crucial deadline dates which have to be met on the way;
  • The need to investigate the most appropriate courses and universities;
  • The costs incurred with different options;
  • The importance of the student’s personal statement and how this can influence a university’s decision;
  • How to prepare your son or daughter for interview.
