Modern Studies

Our department believes that Modern Studies provides our pupils with an understanding of the society in which they live, in particular contemporary social, political and economic issues which affect their everyday life.

Our pupils are encouraged to develop informed attitudes on national and international current affairs such as, reorganisation of local government, the welfare state, the structure and formation of democracy. This is done through a variety of enquiry activities which include planning, collecting, analysing, collating and presenting.
