At Hamilton Grammar School we have a well-established uniform policy which enables pupils to demonstrate a strong sense of identification within the school and its values: working together as a community of learners, to inspire, motivate achieve and feel secure in the school building. Our uniform policy plays a vital part in this ethos and promotes the identity of our School within the local community and helps to release pupils (and in turn their families) from the pressure of having to constantly buy new clothes from the high street or wear the latest designer item.
This last year has been one of the most challenging with many families in Scotland under increasing financial pressure; almost one in four families struggle to meet the costs associated with sending children to school. We also recognise that children outgrow items quickly.
With this in mind and in order to support our community as much as possible, the school is now introducing a UNIFORM HUB which will:
- Recycle school uniform that is either unused or no longer required.
- Provide brand-new school uniform items to families who require this support.
All pupils and their families, who are able to, are asked to donate items of unused or or unwanted school uniform to our Hub on: Friday 18th June, during periods 1 & 2. We would ask that you wash and iron items before sending them in.
Mrs Scaramuzzi will issue collection times via email for parents / carers who wish to use the serves of the Uniform hub
